Mind in Exeter & East Devon is in the process of transition. We have been piloting a wellbeing approach to providing services for people recovering from periods of mental distress, and now want to extend this. To achieve this we are proposing transferring our services to a new Social Enterprise called Phew (Devon) – Promoting Health and Emotional Wellbeing. Phew is being set u and will be run by the same team currently providing Mind services. Mind in Exeter & East Devon will remain as a charity promoting the cause of those whose current lack of mental health is impacting seriously on their quality of life and independence.
Both organisations will work in partnership with HOW (Devon) – Hope Opportunity Wellbeing, which aims to provide information to the wider public about mental health and wellbeing and to support the networking of organisations, groups and individuals.
We are aiming to achieve this by April 2011 and will be launching a recruitment drive for membership of Mind early next year.
The three organisations will share core services and all are registered at:
